3-day celebrations at Riteish-Gen wedding

Bollywood most popular couple Riteish and Genelia finally tied the knot on Feb 3 in Mumbai. Lots of celebrities wished happy life ahead to both of them. Donning a red and golden bridal sari designed by fashion designer Neeta Lulla, Genelia was looking stunning. She was wearing a nose ring and a traditional Maharashtrian mundawali as well. At the same time, Riteish perfectly complemented her in his creamy white attire matched with red turban. The wedding was dazzling with Bollywood celebrities. Jaya and Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan and his mother Hiroo Johar, Kajol and hubby Ajay Devgn, Sohail Khan, Indra Kumar, Ashutosh Gowarikar and his wife Sunita, Shweta Pandit, Sajid Nadiadwala, Jackie Shroff, Sajid Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hussain-Tina, Ashish Chowdhary and his wife Samita Bangargi, Sujoy Ghosh, Asin Thottumkal, and Sophie Choudry. Political bigwigs - Sharad Pawar, Subodh Kant Sahay, Raj Thackrey- also dropped in to be a part of the celebrations.
After two wedding ceremonies - in Maharashtrian as well as Christian style - newly wed couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza on Feb 4 played host to a grand reception attended by the Who's Who of Bollywood. Genelia was seen in a dark peach lehenga, while Riteish wore a black kurta for the function. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with her parents-in-law - Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan - was present at the reception. This was Aishwarya's first major public appearance since the birth of her daughter on November 16. Aishwarya looked stunning in by Manish Malhotra designed blue Anarkali saree.
Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Bipasha Basu, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Imran Khan and wife Avantika, Anushka Sharma, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi, Ameesha Patel, Jiah Khan, Sushmita Sen, Randhir Kapoor, Abbas-Mustan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Zayed Khan, Himesh Reshammiya, Zarine Khan, Shekhar Suman with son Adhyayan, Bappi Lahiri, Atul Agnihotri, Alvira, Arpita, Dabboo Ratnani, Mithun Chakroborty with son Mimoh were others who attended the reception.
Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita were also present on the occasion. Later, some of the celebrities took to twitter to congratulate the newly-weds. "Enjoyed meeting Ritesh and Genelia at their reception. My congrats to the whole family. It was 12 years ago when they came to our reception," actress Madhuri Dixit tweeted. "Good night to all... Just got back from @Riteishd n @geneliad reception, it was dignified beautiful and warm just like the both of them," actor Arshad Warsi said. "Goodnite and sweet dreams, just returned from ritesh and genilia's wedding reception. God bless the couple," actress Ameesha Patel said.
Riteish and Genelia are likely to visit Latur, the native place and constituency of the actor's father and former chief minister of Maharashtra and presently Union minister for science and technology Vilasrao Deshmukh. The first ceremony held on Feb 2 was a sangeet party where Genelia D'Souza was radiant with fiancé Ritesh Deshmukh. Clad in a shimmering lehenga with elaborate jewelry, she was seen greeting Bollywood colleagues as well as family members. Vilasrao Deshmukh looked every inch the proud father, even as Riteish's mom Vaishali preferred to stay indoors. Karan Johar, who directed the entire event, arrived with Abhishek Bachchan, Gauri Khan and Kaajal Anand for company. Among those seen dancing merrily were Zayed and Fardeen Khan and Jackky Bhagnani and family. A voice recording by Shah Rukh Khan dramatized the evening though Shah Rukh himself came only in the wee hours of the morning.
