Ajay Devgan who has been in the news for his recently released 'Halla Bol' will soon be seen in his forthcoming 'Sunday'. The actor was recently in New Delhi and had a chat with the media. First, he explained that he isn't media shy though he is lazy. He doesn't socialize much in the industry but claims to have his own set of friends. The actor denies that he has had digs on his contemporaries like Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan in his 'Halla Bol'. " I have done whatever was there in the script. I had no intention of making a dig." Since the people believe in the media, there is need to involve it in carrying the message. After all, the actor alone cannot help reform the society. Replying to a question about entering the field of direction, Ajay says that he has always liked to do things behind the camera. Excerpts of the interview:

Do you believe in a movie carrying a message?

Yes, 'Halla Bol' shows how fame and power change a person. If the media supports the cause of an actor, like they did in the Jessica Lal murder case, then justice can be done.

Do you trust in the media's role?

Yes, an actor can only draw attention. The people have huge faith in the media, so they believe in its news despite it being untrue.

Are you turning a director with your 'U Me Aur Hum'?

Yes. After I developed the script, I liked it so much that I decided to go ahead and direct it. I love doing more behind the camera. I used to do this before 'Phool Aur Kaante'.

How did Kajol agree to act in 'U Me Aur Hum'?

Kajol loved the script and decided to do it. After all, we are both actors.

What's the animated film 'Toonpur' all about? Is it a gift to your daughter Nysa?

I am doing the film, but it's not just for Nysa. I loved the script so I decided to do it and I'm yet to start shooting, as the pre-production takes long.

Are there any digs at Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in 'Halla Bol'?

No, whatever I have done in the film is as according to the script. I had no intention of making digs at anyone in the film. I am not happy about it, but there are many things related with the release of a film that an actor has no control over.

Don't you feel that you lack friends in the industry? You seem to avoid socializing, isn't it?

This isn't true. I have my set of friends in the industry. I don't attend cine parties, though.
