Bangladesh: Illegal migration
February 10, 2012
India-Bangladesh Border, February 10 (ANI): Despite claims of increased security, the menace of illegal cross-border migration continues to thrive unabated along the sensitive yet largely porous India-Bangladesh border. In the absence of adequate and clear demarcation of the border, people from Bangladesh have been steadily trickling into the Indian territory with brazen impunity, raising alarm bells for both security forces as well as the locals. With many villages situated in the ‘zero-point’ area, demarcation of the border in several areas has proven to be a difficult task.
