Madhur Bhandarkar , the Bollywood's one of the few popular directors is in trouble again though for a different reason this time. His upcoming movie 'Jail' starring Neil Nitin Mukesh in particular, and produced by Percept now, is faced with a dilemma much before its scheduled release. Producer Rajan Sharma alleges that Madhur had already committed to make the film with him in 2004 with Suniel Shetty and Fardeen Khan. In fact, Rajan adds, the older 'Jail' even had a muhurt in January 2004 and a song recorded by Himesh Reshammiya. Rajan Sharma further pleads that Madhur bhandarkar kept delaying the project saying that he wanted to first finish his 'Traffic Signal' and 'Page 3' before doing 'Jail'. However, later the director refused to respond to Rajan's phone calls and finally it appeared the project was over until it appeared in the newspapers two weeks ago.

If the movie is ready, then Rajan claims it's his for he has the rights to 'Jail'. Percept Picture Company is currently producing the movie and Rajan Sharma has threatened to take legal action against both the director and the producer (Percept). On the contrary, the present producer Percept claims that this is just an attempt by Rajan Sharma to make some extra cash. CEO Percept Picture Company, Vavin Shah says such things have happened before. Producers just want to cash in on the popularity of movies like 'Jail' and they just want to make money. But, Rajan Sharma refutes this and alleges that he has spent Rs. eight million (US $ 200,000) on the movie that got shelved. He claims to bring forth documentary evidence to this effect. Anyway, Madhur's movie isn't likely to have a smooth sail and the matter might go to the court. Of course, the movie goers would be disappointed if the movie doesn't hit screens as scheduled .
