Friday, December 16th, 2011, wasn't very entertaining for Bollywood buffs. The second movie hitting theaters 'Jo Hum Chahein' falls far short of expectations. The cast is fresh and the director is debutant. A promising cast but fails because of the absence of a good plot and apt direction. Newcomer hero Sunny Gill and lead actress Simran Kaur Mundi play their parts quite well, but without leaving an impact! In the movie, Rohan is played by Sunny Gill, a 24-year-old MBA, moves to Mumbai to make quick bucks as a stockbroker. His father who retired as Brigadier wants the son to join army, but in vain. Rohan is very confident but falls prey to his superior Vikram played by Alyy Khan. The latter misuses his aggressive attitude through a rich client played by Achint Kaur. In the meantime, Rohan had met with Neha played by Simran Kaur Mundi, who believes in true love.

Though both have different goals, yet they fall in love. On the other hand, Achint who hasn't remarried even after her husband's death as an attempt to succeed his wealth manages to share the bed with Rohan in Goa. It happens to be Rohan's birthday, and Neha springs a surprise by visiting him. She is shocked to see Rohan with Achint. It breaks Neha's heart. Rohan tries to clarify his 'horrible' mistake made under the influence of liquor. Neha doesn't forgive, so Rohan also tries to forget her. But he realizes that both Vikram and Achint have used him.

Rohan returns to his father's home and feels sorry for ignoring his advice. As the luck would have it, Rohan meets his long lost friend at the latter's engagement party. Being a common friend, Neha meets Rohan there and tells him that she is carrying his child. Alas, she doesn't want to share child with him. Completely heartbroken, Rohan begs Neha to share child with him. She then says she has aborted. Rohan breaks down completely. That's when Neha assures him that they need each other at this juncture. And, the film turns from a tragedy into a comedy. Yuck!!

As a whole, the movie is a flawed, weird story. And, it is an even worse direction. But, the performances of the entire cast and beautiful photography of the locales and the foot tapping music indeed overcome the shortcomings to some extent.
