For the first time a full-fledged film based on the real life of the eunuchs in India is going to hit the silver screen as 'Sabnam Mausi'. The eunuchs are normal human beings. But unfortunately they are forced to live far away from the mainstream of society and are generally kept away from society for no fault of their. An eunuch named Shabnam Mausi of Bhopal has been trying for decades for the upliftment of eunuchs and bringing them to the mainstream.

This effort of Shabnam Mausi has been picturized by the producers, Suresh R. Bhonsle and J.R. Manoj. This film is titled after the real name of activist Shabnam Mausi. There is a misconception about eunuchs and therefore society turns a blind eye to their misery. Director Yogesh Bharadwaj has tried to depict this on the silver screen through this film.

So far in the history of Indian cinema no full-fledged film on the eunuchs has ever been produced though in two or three films the character of a eunuch has been introduced. The famous actor Ashutosh is playing the lead role of Shabnam Mausi. The producers and the director of this film are of the view that after watching this film the people would be sympathetic to eunuchs, and would not neglect them.
