Jimmy Sheirgill is very much excited on his forthcoming film 'Delhii Heights'. He says that thoughts of new directors really enthuse him a lot. So, he likes to work with new directors all the time. Jimmy has won the "Best actor award" for 'Bas Ek Pal'. Will he get one more for 'Delhii heights'?

    Excerpts of his interview:

    Tell something about Delhii Heights?

'Delhii Heights' narrates the story of a Delhi's high-rise apartment where a married couple Abi (Jimmy Sheirgill) and Suhana (Neha Dhupia) live though they work for rival companies. Their professional life affects their personal life. Om Puri, who is playing the role of a happy-go-lucky Sikh (Sardar), dwells along with his wife and two daughters in Delhii Heights Apartment. Lucky (Vivek Shauq) who is a versatile cricketer also resides there. And Bobby (Rohit Roy) and his wife Saima (Simone Singh) put up there, too. Bobby has a tendency to flirt and his wife is fully aware of it. It is to notice how circumstances transform their life. Besides them there live four young boys who pull each other's leg and they have only one job of chasing the girls.

    What's special in this film?

I decided to work in this film soon after director Anand Kumar narrated the script to me, because I found that this film is different from those made so far.

Don't you think it is risky to work with new directors?

I always keep working with new directors as their thoughts inspire me a lot to work with them. I welcome every new director when he approaches me with his script.

How was your experience of working with Neha Dhupia?

    click for larger view
I have known Neha Dhupia for long ago but we worked together in this film for the first time. She has, indeed, justified her role in the film. She is a good actress as well as a good human being.

Did the 'Delhi...' shooting remind you of anything?

    click for larger view
It is very difficult to forget the past but during the shooting the weather of Delhi was very bad. The seasonal warm wind (Loo) was blowing that time. We faced lots of difficulties during outdoor shooting. Many artists, including me suffered from fever but the schedule was too tough to miss it any day. Everyday we wished the shooting schedule to be over so that we would get back to Mumbai.

Do you play Holi as there is a Holi song picturized on you in 'Delhii Heights'?

    click for larger view
I have probably played Holi in childhood. Then, I stopped celebrating it, maybe I turned sensible. We don't tend to play Holi as we play it in films. The shooting of a Holi song in 'Mohabattein' lasted for ten days and we played Holi all these days. Since most of the time we are away from our home during Holi, so we have been missing it.

You had very short role in 'Eklavya'. Did you opt to work in this film because it had big stars and a big director?

It doesn't matter if the role is long or short when one likes a producer or a director. I had also played a short role in 'Munna Bhai MBBS' and the audiences had very much liked it.

Let us know about the forthcoming films?

My forthcoming films are 'Stranger' in which I am playing the role of writer and 'Chhodo Na Yaar' which is an adventure thriller. The film 'Das Kahaniyan' has ten stories. I am also in one of these stories.
