Lokayukta row: SC admits Guj govt plea

New Delhi, February 3 (ANI): The Supreme Court today admitted the plea filed by the Gujarat government challenging the state governor's decision to appoint Justice (Retd) R A Mehta as the Lokayukta. The court issued notices to the centre and to the state Lokayukta, asking them to respond to Modi's allegations that Justice Mehta's ‘unilateral’ selection as the Lokayukta was unconstitutional. The Chief of Mahagujarat Janata Party Govardhan Bhai, who had filed a Public Interest Litigation supporting the appointment of Justice Mehata elaborated on court’s proceedings
