She has left Bollywood and dedicated herself to small screen. Pooja Bedi, daughter of noted actor Kabir Bedi, came into limelight for her performance in 'Vishkanya' and 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke'. She had bright prospects as an actress. Many offers came to her from filmmakers. However, she moved out of Mumbai in exile for quite some time following her mother Protima Bedi's death during the latter's pilgrimage to Mansarovar in Himalayas. And the tragic demise of her mother changed her entire life and attitude to the world. She has now returned to acting but on the small screen. This sexy girl is being seen these days on 'Zoom' channel's program 'Not Just Page 3'. We met her recently.

Excerpts of our chat with her:

What's 'Not Just Page 3' all about?

It's an interesting program. We invite personalities from different walks of life, and put questions to them. They reply to our questions. I have been enjoying this very much.

What were the reasons for keeping away from films?

There are many reasons. I realized that it is a mundane world where we come for a few years. It is not worth living unless we do something for our fellow beings. After the death of my mother in an accident, I remembered what my mother had told me about the world. So, I joined 'Not Just Page 3' to serve the people.

How did you feel during the exile from films?

During most of this period I visited various countries like South Africa, Guana and New Zealand besides others, and enjoyed the natural beauty there.

What prompted you to return?

It is a new world for me; far away form the glamorous filmdom. I work silently. I do not care for publicity. It also suits my temperament. By nature, I cannot sit idle for a long time. There is a lot of scope for work--- constructive work.

Where did you enjoy the most in films, plays, modeling or serials?

Yes, I have participated in films, plays etc, but after doing anything for sometime I feel bored and then quit the same. I enjoy doing new things in life.

Does it mean that you will quit Zoom channel too?

I think I shall be in Zoom for quite some time as this program provides me an opportunity to chat with personalities from different walks of life.

Which personality interested you most?

I had heard a lot about Mallika Sherawat. I invited her to the program. I asked her some questions. She is quite frank and modern. However, when I posed a few questions to her, she became angry and tried to run away. During a half hour session, I had to call her back about four or five times. However, she was trying to run away because some of my questions were too personal for her.

Why were you often angry with the media during your filmi career?

I was the only personality to answer the media as bindas during my filmi career. That's why I was always in the news for wrong reasons. I believe that if one becomes a public figure he or she attains a position. Then one cannot evade answering questions. If anyone does so, he or she should quit that position. I still believe in that.
