Bollywood has belied the audience's hopes following the accord reached between the producers and the multiplex owners. Instead of getting better movies, the audience is fed with the worse ones. At least, this Friday's three movie releases - 'Paying Guests', Phhir Milenge Ya Naa Milenge' and one under review (Let's Dance). All of them are average. Let's analyze the 'Let's Dance'. Here, Aarif Shaikh seems to have been in a hurry to launch his directorial debut. Though he has been a National Award winning editor yet Aarif hasn't been able to make this dance-drama crisp enough to impress the audience.

The movie has plenty of dance as well songs and those too anytime and every time, presumably because of Aarif's love for movies likes of 'Naach' and 'Dil to Paagal Hai'. This is evident from the fact that the movie's heroine Gayatri Patel playing in the movie as Suhaani is a passionate dancer. She imparts lessons in choreography without charging anyone any money in the only hope of making it big one day! She wants to divert the slum children from getting addicted to evil of drug peddling etc. This is her pious aim in life. She goes on dancing around Lokhandwala lanes, the Antra Mali did in the latter's 'Naach'. When she makes a somersault, Neil playing Ajai Chowdhary, a dhaba owner, gazes at an otherwise frustrated girl. But as Ajai attempts dance though by chance, through his indecent advances, Suhaani retracts. And so does her dream of rehabilitating a group of drug-peddling kids through a dance video.

Sorry to say that the movie belies all hopes in respect of either content or screenplay or direction. The music as well as songs fall in the average category. The USP of the movie is debutante Gayatri Patel. She is an excellent dancer and a confident actress. However, she is bound by the script, and therefore unable to show her worth. Aquib Afzal fares well. Ajai Chowdhary is nice too. Abhaas Yadav, the leader of slum children gang, proves a good dancer. His love for his dancer teacher is worthy of praise. Sugandha Garg of the 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' fame is wasted in the movie as she has no scope beyond her limited role.

Overall, the movie disappoints though Gayatri might emerge as a winner in her future career.
