'Dekh Bhai Dekh' ('DBD') is indeed a comedy as its title tells in no uncertain words. The movie is full of fun and laughter but these are the outcome of greed, cunning and destiny! Though it might entertain and help one relax but on wrong counts. Anyway, it does entertain and also help the audience relax for a while. This follows in the footsteps of a recently released flick titled 'Sankat City'. The movie's story is set in a small village of western Uttar Pradesh built on the banks of a river. There lives Babli played by Gracy Singh of the 'Lagaan' and 'Munnabhai' fame. Though she has played positive roles in her two previous movies, in this movie she acts in just a reverse gear.

She is bored with her life, and looks for crime. After all, her estranged husband and in-laws have thrown her away from the house. Meanwhile, she switches channels and gets inspiration to get rich through a robbery. Luckily for her, there is a friend available in Shyam played by Siddharth Koirala (brother of actress Manisha Koirala). Since he is unemployed, but ambitious kabadi wallah's son, he looks for some schemer to help. They find one easily in Yadav played by Raghuveer Yadav. Raghuveer is a small-time politician dreaming for a white Ambassador with a flashing red light above it known for a VIP status.

He in turn looks for an a small time thief and gets one in Charan played by none other than Vijay Raaz. Babli plans to steal a golden idol of Lord Krishna from a temple on the auspicious day of Janmashtami (when Lord Krishna was born)! She keeps the plan secret from her other colleagues. Later, they come to know about it though. Now, the four guys want to escape from here to hide their booty. Incidentally, they come across a lonely silver-haired woman, who lets them in to spend the night in her opulent haveli. She's alone in a house with foursome thieves who have just figured that splitting the murti into four will not buy them their dreams. The old woman leaves her jewels around, while weeping for her wayward son! Another bait for the intriguing guys!!

The credit for weaving the story and making it crisp goes to writer and director Rahat Kazmi. Performance-wise too, the director has chosen the right cast, especially Gracy Singh and Vjay Raaz. As usual, both do full justice to their assigned roles. However, Kazmi hasn't fully utilized the funny potential of Raghuveer Yadav. Had Yadav been fully exploited, the movie would have ranked much higher. Siddharth Koirala plays cute but looks shy with no expression visible on his face. He needs to do home work to stay in the industry. Though Gracy is known for her positive roles but she has proved beyond doubt that she can act in the opposite direction too. She turns out to be a good schemer and successful team leader. Virendra Saxena and Asrani lend able support.

As a whole, the movie is found entertaining. What else could you look for in such a low budget and sans big stars movie?
