Out of the two big Hindi movies releasing this Friday July 17, 'Jashnn' stands on top because of its score in the fields of music and emotions. The director duo of Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwala succeeds to a great extent in synchronizing the different departments. The writer proves his worth by penning the dialogues and the cast by their excellent performances. The movie centers on Akash Verma played by Adhyayan Suman (son of actor Shekhar Suman). He dreams of becoming an icon from that of a small time club singer. However, he miserably fails and in the meantime decides to fall in love with a girl he just spotted at a coffee shop. He calls her khoobsoorat cheez (sweet stranger)!

The girl is rich yet likes Akash even though the latter is broke. She sells her jewelry for their livelihood. Akash struggles to hit his dream but in vain and quarrels with music companies. This is another matter that he is to blame for the sad story of his life; his relationship with his siblings is no good. But, isn't it a stark reality of life? This may look strange though that a small time singer dreams of becoming too big a singer some day. Isn't the movie following the Bhatts' style? So, the plot looks weak initially; how can a small club singer dream beyond what he is worth. But he proves it wrong later. Similarly, its comparison with Arjun Rampal starrer 'Rock On' because of both being musical we don't find it anywhere close to that inasmuch as Akash' band comprises three other artists but no good.

Meanwhile, Akash luckily or after realization of his limitations, falls for Sara played by charming Anjana Sukhani. She is sister of bhai Aman Bajaj played by Humayun Saeed (from Pakistan) who is the master of Akash' sister. Aman doesn't approve of Akash and Sara's relationship. So, there is hardly any romance in their life. Rather, Shahana Goswami playing Nisha as Aman's mistress, succeeds in enacting romantic scenes though very limited. The story provides no scope for her role. Incidentally, Nisha had become Aman's mistress in order to help her broke brother.

Sara, on the other hand, played by Anjana Sukhan is Aman's sister, who makes Akash realize that he is an extremely talented man and is simply going through a bad phase! In the climax, Akash becomes an overnight star, and lives up to the faith that his sister and Sara had in him all along. That's why in the end, Akash invites his sister on stage and makes her accept the award from none other than Aman Bajaj, who always hated Akash. A good example set by Akash! While analyzing the movie critically, we find that Shagufta Rafique scores in writing the screenplay as well as dialogues. As a result, certain scenes enacted especially during Akash apology to Aman and also his indulgence in looting money, are worth appreciation.

Acting-wise, the movie meets with great success. Though Adhyayan Suman's character is initially weak the actor has performed it very well. He can indeed bank on his bright future. Shahana Goswami looks natural even in her negative character of a mistress. Similarly, Humayun Saeed from Pakistan as Aman Bajaj can look forward to brighter prospects in view of his excellent performance even in a completely negative role. Anjana Sukhani is charming and proves that she shares chemistry with Akash. Camerawork is good too.

Keeping in view all the above factors, we find the movie worth watching.
