Emraan Hashmi is ready with his latest film, 'Jannat', which is scheduled to release in India on May 16, 2008. The film also stars debutant Sonal Chauhan in lead role. Starting his career with "Footpath" in 2003, Emraan has had an extravagant journey since then. Ultimately, his seriousness towards work and an immense talent for acting is what bagged him 'Jannat', where he plays Arjun, a reckless young man with an obsession for making money who steps up from playing a small-time card games to becoming a bookie. Famously known as Mahesh Bhatt's blue-eyed boy, Emraan Hashmi has yet again teamed up under the Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt banner, Vishesh Films with an offbeat film 'Jannat' which is being released by Percept Picture Company in India.
The female lead in this movie is Sonal Chauhan. She is an Indian fashion model and actress. Crowned as the Miss World Tourism 2005 at Miri, Sarawak state of Malaysia and also as a noteworthy former Miss India contestant, Sonal has been a popular model of Delhi and has appeared in a number of advertisement campaigns in print and electronic media. The "Bhatts" have given Sonal a heavenly debut with 'Jannat', which will mark the directorial debut of yet another young director, Kunal Deshmukh. Though Kunal has been in prolong association with the Bhatt camp, and has also served as assistant director for 'Zeher' and 'Kalyug', but as a director, this is his first venture. Kunal worked with actor Emraan Hashmi as his lead hero in the film. He has done an excellent job to build an on screen chemistry between the experienced Emraan and debutant Sonal Chauhan.
