“Ooh la la...” spree in Bollywood

“Ooh la la” seems to be Bollywood’s favorite these days. How else soon after Vidya Balan, Ali Zafar will sing the same tune in his upcoming film? This is noteworthy that no sooner Vidya Balan put the screen on fire with “Ooh la la” in her ‘The Dirty Picture’ than Ali Zafar tuned it in ‘London Paris New York’. Ali who was last seen in ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’ claims that he had actually put together this song much before “Ooh La La” from ‘The Dirty Picture’ started making waves.
Ali further says that their song is totally different. It is set in Paris and is basically inspired by a phrase Parisians commonly use: Ooh la la. Experts agree that the two songs are so completely different that neither seems to have borrowed anything from the other. While Vishal-Shekhar’s “Ooh la la” had to have a very ‘80s feel to fit the retro theme of ‘The Dirty Picture’, Ali’s song is more contemporary. Besides, Ali had written, composed and sung the song featuring two popular female Pakistani vocalists - Hadiya Kiyani and Sanam Marvi, in his mind.
