Rising Buddha by Maushmi Badra It was more of a colour play in Maushmi Badra’s latest winter festive 2012 collection that the designer showcased at Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week in the city recently. The collection was titled ‘Rising Buddha’. Models sashayed down the ramp clad in short western dresses, gowns donned with waist jackets. Intricate cuts, creative stitches and flowy bottoms endowed with perfect finish. Mythical Journey of Sonam Dubal In Sonam Dubal's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at WIFW, traditional patterns in black, white and blue were converged with burgundy and saffron echoing the serenity of the Buddhist faith. His collection comprised of pleated pants, turtle neck tops, wrap dresses, silk tunics with digital print leggings, quilted striped long jackets, silk sari worn with a black overcoat, layered knit pants and printed long dresses over hand embroidered coats to name a few. Rakhi’s Fashion @ Bangalore Fashion Week A London-based designer of Indian origin, Rakhi Peethamber, for the first time showcased her winter festive 2012 collection at Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week held in the city recently. Going with the theme of a string of gems, the collection was aptly called ‘Ethereal’. Models flaunted cocktail dresses, red carpet gowns, derby hats and wedding gowns on the ramp. Western silhouettes with one shoulder dresses and deep V neck cuts were hugely inspired from Victorian era.
