Ramgopal Varma's 'Sarkar Raj' that has been running into troubles, one after another, is stuck again. This time, Raju Shah, a film financier, has filed a complaint with the Indian Motion Pictures Distribution Association (IMPDA) saying that its co-producer K Sera Sera owes him money. And, the association has given its ruling in Shah's favor. Though the film has been planned for a big print release in Mumbai territory, it's unlikely to be released there since Shah filed a complaint claiming that K Sera Sera had borrowed Rs 20 million from his company at the time of the making of Chal Chala Chal and another movie starring Bobby Deol, and hasn't repaid the same.
As a result, the IMPDA has decided that K Sera Sera will have to clear the amount or the film would not be registered on the distributor's name (Raksha Distributors). However, Ramesh Sippy, who heads IMPDA and is also the worldwide distributor of 'Sarkar Raj', admits that Raju Shah had filed a complaint against K Sera Sera over pending dues, but the latter has promised to clear the amount soon. So, Sippy is confident that the film will not have a problem releasing in Mumbai, too.
